My two boys and I love playing a quick round at city park. Its the most beautiful scenery and it has hills! They are constantly working to make it better so there are some hitches here and there but this is my favorite BREC course for the hills and scenery.

The Baton Rouge City Park Golf Course is a very well kept 9-hole course adjacent to the University Lakes. The prices are fair and the difficulty is easy to moderate. The course itself doubles as a FootGolf course, where individuals can essentially play golf by kicking the soccer ball. What is nice about this course is that it is built up higher than the surrounding area so when it rains the course stays fairly dry.

I love this course I just wish they would clean up the greens the last two times I played here the greens were covered in lawn clippings goose

Pros: - great price on BREC website - pretty course and well kept - nice, friendly staff Cons: - only 9 holes, so hole 1 (and 10) is a traffic jam. Pace of play can be disappointing as a result. - occasionally, there are non-golfers on the course that seem to not care they are on a golf course. I had a jogger steal my ball one time because it "came too close to her" on my drive. Last time I was there, a family of 4 was picnicking between holes 6 and 7 and their kids were screaming and playing and running around. On the golf course. I wish they would keep non-golfers off the course. Verdict: This is my favorite course in BR. I love going here and I would recommend it to anyone. The cons I mentioned are all manageable, and the pros FAR outweigh them.

Great quick course. We like the change in elevation and to see the ducks, turtles, and in general the scenic ponds and natural Louisiana plant life. Though the course is often under-maintained, it is always playable. The pro shop staff seem to have an edge for some reason, even for other golfers, I notice the pro shop staff are typically just “bitter”. Marshall is always kind and helpful. I would give a 3.5 if I could!
